Can the planner sync with my calendar app (Google, Outlook, iCal)?
One of the most common questions we get asked is about syncing the Future ADHD digital planner with calendar apps Google, Outlook & iCal.
Digital planners of this kind don’t integrate with G Cal because they’re operating within the parameters of whichever annotation app you use. The Future ADHD planner is also intended to be used as a standalone product and while a calendar can ping you an alert (which can help you in the short term against our ‘out of sight out of mind’ mentality), it won’t really help you in the long run. So the planner is designed to be your go-to tool that you open when you plan, and if you then need to add something to your calendar, this is a secondary task.
If you’re using your planner regularly, you will find that you start to drop your reliance on needing the reminders (yes, I know that sounds unbelievable at this point to an ADHDer, but it’s true – the planner becomes the habit and it’s right there in front of you).
Having said that, there are ways to duplicate your planner content into your calendar apps, and that’s what this article will show you below.
1-iPad: GoodNotes
To send annotations to your calendar app, you need to lasso the item and drag it onto your calendar. Here’s a quick video tutorial:
Tip: if you write in your planner on an angle then when you drag that across to your calendar it might have a hard time reading your handwritten text. So make sure you write straight (or rotate your text) before you use the lasso tool. 🙂
2-Other option – all apps
The other option to copy across to your calendar is to use a text element in your Future ADHD planner and then copy the text and paste it into your calendar.
Here’s an example of doing this in Xodo on a Windows device:
